SALISH SEA, 2075 / TRANSMISSION 001

Eleven days
underwater.

Eleven days on the seabed. Mara got the relay talking again. MOTH insists we were never off air. Sure, MOTH.

Recovered 03.10.75 Still drying.

Fictional recovered coastal relay: a translucent ceramic shell, salt-encrusted repairs and a small amber light beside dark water.

FOUND WITH THE RELAY

RELAY SIX / RUNNING ORDER

An hour on the coast.

The music runs on salvaged parts.
The repair show takes payment in lemons.

    THE CUPBOARD

    We kept the tapes.

The first pilot, the full hour, and twenty-two loose pieces.
Keep a copy somewhere dry. We’ve learned a thing.

Pick a recording. The station carries on.

    THE PEOPLE OUTSIDE THE RADIO

    Made in 2026.
    Set in 2075.

TIDEPOOL.ING is a sound artwork by Kris Krüg with Codex. The experiment: put a pirate station fifty years down the coast and see who shows up. Give the repair crew more airtime than the people selling the future. Let the water finish a sentence.

Eleven Days Underwater is a recorded hour on repeat. Join puts you at the same scheduled moment as other listeners with synchronized device clocks. The archive lets you listen at your own pace. This is an internet sound work, not a live performance or a physical radio transmitter.

    Voices, music & artwork

The residents, businesses and calls are written fiction. The stock Kokoro v1.0 cast is af_heart, bm_george, bf_emma, af_sarah, am_puck, af_bella, am_michael and am_fenrir. No voice cloning. The model is Apache-2.0 licensed; the local kokoro-onnx runtime is MIT licensed.

The music, water and interference were made with procedural synthesis. There are no shoreline field recordings, archival voices or listener submissions in this edition.

The relay is generated concept art. Its lights and silent service notes follow the recorded story. The trace follows the audio; tuning changes how you hear it. These aren't readings of tides, weather or other listeners.

The first pilot and its twenty-two pieces are in the archive. Listening needs no account or microphone permission.

    Motion follows your device setting.

Outside the fiction, the station is part of Kris Krüg’s Creative AI Human Lab. Its sibling signal is Little Supercluster, a lullaby for a restless machine.

“Coastal rated. It can see the coast.”

Came out of a receiver that was picking up tomorrow. Mara cleaned the contacts. Then somebody touched them. She would like a word.

The seal was water-resistant when we sold it. Eleven days on the seabed is a fairly committed way to read the fine print.

Fixed it. Don’t make it a submarine again.
